I am stuck. I am not sure I handled a situation properly. I am not sure what to do next.
We were cleaning out toys and stuff in the girls room. They all three share a room, so we have to clean out frequently to keep a path through the room. We went in the attic to get some toys down. We were trying to give away things since the girls just had a birthday and Christmas in coming. We found a baggie with some beads with letters and shapes and some strings to make bracelets or necklaces. Morgan says they belong to her and Hannah says they belong to her. What do I do? Hannah has been in trouble for not being honest lately. I asked her how I could trust that she is telling the truth? She said she isn't lying. She says they are hers. How do I know who they belong too?
Use the trick of the king in 1 Kings 3:16-28 where King Solomon ordered a sword be brought to him to split the child in half.
ReplyDeleteI use this trick often. Tell them you will just throw them away and see if one of them says okay and the other says no. The one that they don't belong to won't care as much if you throw them away as the one that is the owner. If this doesn't work or you don't want to throw them away sort them out half and half, you still might get different reactions and be able to tell who is telling the truth.
Hope this helps. I hate it when this sort of thing happens at my house.
