Two Years

Gotcha Day was this past Friday.  They have been in our home for two years now.  We traveled to my parents that morning.  The boys went to the lake with my dad and the girls and I went to shopping with my mother for new shoes.  It was more apparent than ever the maturity difference in Morgan and the twins to my mother.  Saturday morning we were up really early to go to garage sales with my mother  The girls love this and had a great time.  She gives them each five dollars and it is always interesting to see what they purchase.

Saturday night we were blessed to be able to attend the Cast*ing Cro*wns conert.  What a great concert and worship experience!  It was a blessing for each one of us!!

Tucker now has his drivers permit.  I can't believe I have a fifteen year old.

The neurologist called and confused me.  However, he did tell me that day one of the EEG was normal.  I believe I understood him to say he will review the second day and let me know if he sees anything.  For now, we are going to assume we are seeing fight or flight symptoms.

She has had a few little fits the last few days towards Morgan.  She learned the hard way that Morgan is bigger and a lot stronger than she is.

I hope everyone has a blessed Easter!!!

  1. two years, wow.

Jackson has learned the hard way that all his bothers are bigger and stronger than him and it has made him much less aggressive towards them. :)

  2. Humm, about the 2nd day of the EEG, don't be afraid of booking an appointment to discuss about the results.

When a neurologist (or any doctor) is rushed, he may not tell you clearly about an abnormality on a test.
So, please, book an appointment to the neurologist and ask him explanations about the results. You are entitled to receive explanations you understand : it's the basics of a MD's job !
Don't assume "fight or flight" because if it's not that, it will create more problems than it solves. Because if it's not fight or flight, then, the underlying problem lingers and it can become worse.

Please, really, please, instead of assuming what it may be, ask explanations to the neurologist. It's his job to provide clear explanations for you to you. If he refuses to explain, it's a red flag and don't be afraid of shopping for another neurologist in this case.

Also, if there was no incident when Focalin was taken off, ask him if the medicine could be the culprit.
Focalin may lower the epileptogenic threshold, which may explain why you see incident when Hannah is under med and they disappear when she is not under medicine.
In this case, if the medicine is taken off for the EEG, the results can be misleading.
I may be wrong, but it worthes speaking with the neurologist about this problem, as Focalin can provoke seizures to some people.

    Cross my fingers for you
