Today wasn't a bad day by any means. However, Ann struggled in school again today. It is almost 2 pm and she isn't finished with school yet. She has been moving slow all morning. Beth has been finished for about 45 minutes. I will give the meds one more day, but I am probably going to call to have the meds increased. I was hoping we could stay on the low dose, but I guess not. She has started not wanting to eat now. She didn't want a snack this morning and I had to make her eat some lunch. How do you deal with this issue, especially after we increase the meds?
We did sign the papers today. The attorney said he would file with the judge today or in the morning.
Make sure she has a good breakfast before med and keep ensure and protine bars on hand. Mom went through this with my sister.
ReplyDeleteGive her a good breakfast before you give her her meds. Try that and see what happens. Glad today wasnt terrible!
ReplyDeleteOur Dr. said to give it at least a week to really see. Everyone has a bad day here and there so it may not be that the meds are not working. It may be the signing or just a slow moving attitude today. Also, it may be that the med she is on isn't the best one for her but there is really no way to know for sure until you give it a little time. We have mostly good days here but there are still days that are really, really bad. No meds are going to be perfect all the time but the overall improvement is so much better than no meds at all. Hang in there and don't get discouraged!!
ReplyDeleteWe have two kids no meds which cause food issues. Our pediatrician told us to give them a well rounded vitamin, get them to drink tings like V-8 any kind and whatever you can get them to eat make it as nutritious as possible. He said that they are Americans and it would take an awful lot for them not to get enough nutrition.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of meds we have tried many and the one that has been the most effective for our kids with FASD is Vyvanse. Nothing else even came close in effectiveness.
